Admiral Quigley, Read Admiral US Navy (Ret.) and Executive Director of Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance introduces this exciting new initiative to Hampton Roads. Championed by Give an Hour, a nonprofit organization providing free mental health services to U.S. military personnel and their families, this event will present results of community and organizational surveys and announce how Walmart community grants, Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation, and other key participants are collaborating to drive support of our troops and their families.
Watch the event live at "Webcasts" at 4:00 PM right here at hamptonroadscares.org
Background
There is universal support for our warriors and families, and nonprofit services have grown and improved in communities across America. Still, there remain significant gaps that can only be filled by more focused planning and coordination.
To address these gaps, volunteers from several leading nonprofits are creating an online Community Blueprint that will help local leaders (e.g. business, civic, heads of community-based organizations) assess and improve their community’s support for military families.
