Order Validation and Acceptance
When you place an order through the Hampton Roads Cares website, we may verify your method of payment, and billing address before processing your order. Your placement of an order via the Hampton Roads Cares website is an offer to make charitable donations to local Hampton Roads organizations and causes. We may accept your order by processing your payment, or may, for any reason, decline to accept your order. No order shall be considered to be accepted by Hampton Roads Cares until the order has been processed. If we decline to accept your order, we will attempt to notify you using the e-mail address you have provided.
When you place an order through the Hampton Roads Cares website, you are required to provide a valid e-mail address, which we may use to communicate with you regarding the status of your order, advise you regarding shipment of backordered products, and to provide you with any other notices, disclosures or other communications relating to your order. You agree that Hampton Roads Cares will not be responsible for any damage you incur, or information you do not receive, as a result of your failure to provide a valid e-mail address.
Pricing and Product Information
Hampton Roads Cares products and services are subject to change without notice. Prices are subject to change at any time prior to Hampton Roads Cares acceptance of your order. In the event we discover a material error in the description or availability of a product or service that affects your outstanding order with Hampton Roads Cares, or an error in pricing, we will notify you of the corrected version, and you may choose to accept the corrected version, or cancel the order. If you choose to cancel the order, and your credit card has already been charged for a purchase, Hampton Roads Cares will issue a credit to your credit card in the amount of the charge.
Security and Privacy
Hampton Roads Cares follows the industry standard, Secure Sockets Layer protocol, "SSL," for the transfer of data over the internet.
When placing an order online, a "key-lock" icon will appear in the bottom right of your browser window. This icon is your confirmation that SSL has been activated for the transfer of your personal information. A second indication of SSL activation is that the displayed URL will begin with "https".
Your credit card information (account number, expiration date, and CVV) are never stored on Hampton Roads Cares websites, in our shopping cart, or in our database. These values are relayed to our credit card merchant gateway for payment through an encrypted connection.
Payment and Shipment
You may pay for your order using one of the following major credit cards, issued in the United States of America: Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® and American Express® cards. All orders will generally be processed, billed, and shipped based upon the product you selected.
We will not provide refunds once you have agreed to place currency in your virtual wallet. In the case of orders for physical goods, you may cancel your order prior to shipping by simply contacting us by email or phone.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping and handling charges are included your order. Packages can only be shipped to physical addresses and cannot be shipped to PO boxes. We do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays or national holidays. Once packages have been shipped, they should arrive within 2 - 3 business days, depending on the destination.
Note: "business day" means Monday through Friday except for national holidays
Where required, Hampton Roads Cares collects and remits sales taxes as required by law on purchases of physical goods made via the website. For most purchases, including additions to your virtual wallet, no tax will be collected. If you have tax-exempt status, you must provide a valid tax exemption number evidencing your status at the time of purchase. Hampton Roads Cares will not refund tax amounts collected in the event a valid number is not provided. If you provide a number that is not accepted for any reason by any governmental or regulatory authority, and Hampton Roads Cares is required to pay tax on your purchase, you will reimburse Hampton Roads Cares for the amount of such tax, and Hampton Roads Cares reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the payment and collection of such tax.
The only warranties Hampton Roads Cares provides with respect to any product or service purchased through the Hampton Roads Cares websites are those warranties, if any, set forth in the written Hampton Roads Cares documentation accompanying such product or service.
You may return any physical product purchased through the Hampton Roads Cares websites within thirty (30) days of receipt, as long as the product is unused. You will receive a full refund for the product. If you received the wrong product, or a product that is damaged or defective or contains a damaged or defective part, you may contact us to obtain return instructions, or to obtain a replacement.
