I'm pleased to share some new, updated information about the innovative, integrated and complete CareTrek product and services offering......

.....CareTrek is being positioned as a complete, comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that is based on the highly successful PHP Gold Standard.  PHP is an acronym for Physicians Health Programs which have been in place for over four decades and is the primary business for RecoveryTrek, which is the provider for CareTrek.

On the one hand, research shows that EAPs are a standard offering which is growing amongst larger employers.  On the other hand, there are questions about employees achieving effective results.  However, CareTrek is built on the formula that has proved to be successful in alleviating alcoholism and drug addiction dependency in over 80% of licensed professionals who participate in PHP programs.  This is a key strategic leverage point for CareTrek.  In essence, the RecoveryTrek/CareTrek plaforms emulates the PHP standard and will help employees across all professions enjoy similar success rates.

By offering CareTrek as an enhancement to employers’ EAP programs, CareTrek in effect becomes a specialized, evidence-based stand-alone solution for drug and alcohol addiction.  CareTrek can help employers retain and hire key talent, build loyalty and improve productivity while reducing safety risks on the job.  CareTrek can also help save the careers of valued staff who may be fighting addiction which cause them to be less employable.

CareTrek enables employers (and professional affiliation groups) to provide their employees (and members) an evidence-based program to achieve successful SUD recovery, thus enabling the employees to extend their careers and improve their health.  CareTrek fits perfectly as an “enhancement” to an EAP service for employers who have an EAP offering as part of their employee benefits.  CareTrek is a perfect “standalone” EAP package of services for employers who don’t have an EAP offering as part of their employee benefits.  It enables employers to attract talent, improve employee retention and to increase productivity by helping reduce absenteeism.

Finally, for employees and their dependents who may be battling substance abuse addiction, CareTrek provides a benefit that heretofore has been mostly available to licensed professionals.  It enables them a chance to participate in an evidence-based program to achieve success in their recovery efforts, thus helping the employees continue their careers and improve their health and wellbeing.

I enjoyed reading Joe's blog announcing the repositioning of the CareTrek brand as a "comprehensive employee assistance program" for leading employers. He shows it's one that combines the entire cycle of services and components of effective substance abuse recovery programs at affordable prices and as an employee benefit. Smart idea. Previous blogs a few years ago shared the CareTrek brand name was an "after care program" or continuing care program for successful "graduates" who have completed a formal recovery program.
The fact that CareTrek is based 100% on the core elements of the "PHP Gold Standard" model that the parent company RecoveryTrek has been a TPA for is all the more smart. It's innovative, but in a way may not so much. After all, innovation is often putting a solution in place from another context. That said, here's hoping CareTrek works as well in the broad "blue ocean" marketplace of employee benefits.
I'd like to learn more about RecoveryTrek's core business since this concept of CareTrek is based largely on that.
