For many Americans, taking time to give thanks for good health may not seem like a priority.  On one hand, many people in good health take it for granted, while others are in bad health and aren't sure why they'd consider giving thanks for good health given their circumstances.

Yet, for a growing number of others, giving thanks for good health makes much sense; some have worked hard to achieve it, perhaps others have benefitted from an amazing intervention from the healthcare system to recover from poor health....

Managing Population Health: A New Day

When we think of "population health management" the concept of public health or community health often becomes the image we think of. However, when we think more broadly about identifying populations of people and managing their health and healthcare, then we find ourselves moving into one of the exciting new models of healthcare innovation that is emerging on the scene.  

So, while the concept has been discussed in academic circles for a while now, where is the evidence that it's beginning to move in practical application in the real world?  An earlier blog last week on this site, referred to an announcement by Medicare for a change in compensation models called MACRA.  

But where is evidence that such new approaches aimed at the whole health of a group of people could be adopted in the actual marketplace?  And how might this be resourced in such a way that there could actually be market-based evidence one day soon as to the exciting promise this approach might hold?
